Gen X Trivia Night Fundraiser

Remember Generation X? It’s the generation sandwiched between Boomers and Millennials, the one that brought you terrible hair and great music. It’s been called “The Forgotten Generation.” However, we’re giving Generation X its moment in the sun with our new exhibition, Growing Up X. From legwarmers to He-Man to cassette tapes to the Oregon Trail, we’re showcasing all the toys, technology, and cultural touchstones that shaped a generation, brought to life by the memories of those who lived through it all.

Join us on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. for a Gen X-themed trivia night benefitting the Illinois State Museum’s Growing Up X Exhibition.

We want you and your team to have as much fun as possible! Here's what you need to know:

Date: November 12, 2022

Location: Columbian Grand Hall, 2200 S. Meadowbrook Road, Springfield, IL 62711

Doors Open: 5:30 p.m.

Trivia Night: 6:00-9:00 PM

Cost: $110 per table of up to 8 people or $15 per individual (will be assigned to a team)

Food and Beverage: Bring your snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. We've got a cash bar available for you to purchase wine and beer.

Gen-X Table Challenge: Get into character for this fun-filled event! Celebrate the best of the 70s, 80s, and 90s by dressing up your team and decorating your table to pay tribute to your favorite Gen X television show, musical group, etc. The team showcasing their best over-the-top Gen X spirit will receive a cash prize.

Auction and Raffle Prizes: Numerous baskets will be available for your viewing and bidding delight.

Mulligans: Teams may purchase up to ten mulligans per table. Teams may use mulligans to make up for a missed question or turn a wrong answer into a right one.

Rent the Growing Up X Curator: For an extra boost rent the curator of Growing Up X for a round.
