Celebrate with us at the opening of Noir 3!

Join us on Friday, June 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Illinois State Museum in Springfield for appetizers and drinks and to meet the exhibiting artists.

We are proud to highlight the extraordinary talents of Black artists at the annual NOIR 3 art exhibition in partnership with Springfield's Juneteenth, Inc. In this year's show, co-curators Alyssa Farmer and Korbin "Kas" King aim to showcase the profound impact of Black creativity on the world. The exhibition delves into the perspectives of Black artists and how their culture has influenced various aspects of life, such as hair, music, fashion, and lifestyles. Ultimately, the exhibition aims to demonstrate how Black culture has left an indelible mark on ALL cultures.

The Museum and Juneteenth, Inc. staff will award first, second, and third-place ribbons for exceptional artworks at the event. There’s a Best in Show purchase award available too. Any purchased artwork will be added to the permanent collection of the Illinois State Museum, thanks to the Michelle and Guerry Suggs Diversity Collections Acquisition Fund.

Take advantage of this opportunity to view some stunning art pieces and visit with the exhibiting artists.
