Where do we go from here?
The 1908 Legacy Alliance invites you to participate in a community conversation about how Springfield's institutions acknowledge the history of 1908 and its ongoing impact on the community. This event will occur on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 6 PM at Union Baptist Church in Springfield.
Carolyn and Robert Blackwell will lead a discussion with residents and individuals connected to and affected by the events of 1908. This conversation seeks to create a space for sharing reflections on how the experiences of 1908 continue to resonate in our lives today, particularly regarding the social issues we face.
Additionally, the Alliance wants to hear the community's thoughts on the newly established African Descent-Citizens Reparations Commission.
